ABOUT ME

Dr. Bekke Abe, LMFT

Doctor of Marriage and Family Therapy (DMFT)

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a specialization in Medical Family Therapy.

I work with individuals who are navigating chronic illness, cancer, and invisible or complex medical conditions—often after feeling dismissed, misunderstood, or alone in their experiences.

My work has been shaped by years in a medical setting alongside an oncologist, where I supported patients facing life-altering diagnoses.

That experience deepened my commitment to whole-person care—and to creating a space where your experience is taken seriously, not minimized or overlooked.

My approach is grounded in Narrative Therapy, Narrative Medicine, and Medical Family Therapy.

This means we take time to understand your story—not just your symptoms. Together, we explore how illness has affected your identity, relationships, and sense of self, while also making space for grief, resilience, and meaning.

I believe healing begins when we are truly heard—when we are invited to speak freely, listened to deeply, and cared for without judgment.

You don’t have to have the right words or a clear starting point. You are welcome to come as you are.

For those who desire it, I also offer space to explore faith and meaning as part of the healing process

It is a privilege to walk alongside you.
